
Group vs. Private Lessons
While Palmetto Double Bass Academy group classes cover the necessities of double bass playing, additional private lessons further attend to a student’s personal needs. It is recommended that students participate in both, however each option may be chosen separately.

Group Classes
Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm
Specially designed for quality and accessibility, Academy group classes are the benchmark for student bass players in the Midlands. We offer specialized 2-hour group classes for beginner and advanced double bassists. At a price point of $30, Academy classes are half the cost and double the time of the average private lesson! Live as far as Greenville or Charleston and can’t make it every week? Join our email list to be notified about special classes, guest artists, and online opportunities.
Private Lessons
Study a curriculum designed specifically for you, and take advantage of performance opportunities, professional recording capabilities, and critical feedback in your double bass journey. Virtual lessons are also offered for convenience. Claim your preferred weekly lesson time before it’s too late!
Half Hour

Dedicated time for specific personal feedback. Also good for casual learners.

Doctor On-Call

2 hours of lesson time across the week AND unlimited daily practice recording feedback. For the most serious musicians and procrastinators.

Exploratory, or placement lessons are a great way for new students to get started with new instruments. These sessions help us get to know your goals, evaluate your musical interests, and recommend the best teacher for you from a wide Midlands network. You can expect a friendly, supportive introduction so we can discover how you learn best.
